    tadi baca di koran kompas..... katanya 1 liter bio-ethanol kalo di campur 9 liter premium, oktan nya jadi lebih bagus dari pertamax plus. ada yg udah nyoba ? sama beli di mana ya ? di toko kimia ada gak ?

    gw denger2 ga bagus utk mbl2 jepang taon2 lama.... ie taon 2000an baru bisa.

    denger2 lagi katanya gara2 fuel linesnya vs ethanol. katanya ethanolnya bisa 'makan' karet2nya ato gimana gitu.... seal2 segala.... ga gt ngerti. tp itu yg g denger.

    gue pake perbandingan 5% bioethanol 95% premium hasilnya cukup puas tp memang direkomendasikan tidak lebih dari 5% - 10% aman untuk fuel line.

    "Fuel system problems
    Several of the outstanding ethanol fuel issues are linked specifically to fuel systems. Fuels with more than 10% ethanol are not compatible with non E85-ready fuel system components and may cause corrosion of ferrous components.[121][122] Ethanol fuel can negatively affect electric fuel pumps by increasing internal wear,[122] cause undesirable spark generation,[123] and is not compatible with capacitance fuel level gauging indicators and may cause erroneous fuel quantity indications in vehicles that employ that system.[124] It is also not always compatible with marine craft, especially those that use fiberglass fuel tanks.[125][126]

    Using 100% ethanol fuel decreases fuel-economy by 15-30% over using 100% gasoline; this can be avoided using certain modifications that would, however, render the engine inoperable on regular petrol without the addition of an adjustable ECU.[127] Tough materials are needed to accommodate a higher compression ratio to make an ethanol engine as efficient as it would be on petrol; these would be similar to those used in diesel engines which typically run at a CR of 20:1,[128] versus about 8-12:1 for petrol engines.[129]

    In April 2008 the German environmental minister cancelled a proposed 10% ethanol fuel scheme citing technical problems: too many older cars in Germany are unequipped to handle this fuel. Ethanol levels in fuel will remain at 5%."

    menurut gw sih mobil yg udah pantes pake ini produk tu jajaran mobil nya Ford yg emang udah E20 Enabled (sanggup tanpa ada kerusakan apapun untuk mengkonsumsi campuran bensin dan bio-etanol dgn perbandingan 1:5 atau 20%).

    buat mobil lain nilai tambah dari oktan nya jelas berasa, tapi apakah akan merusak Fuel Line ato tidak, time will tell..

    gw sih juga yakin pake bio-ethanol tu mantep, karena pastinya gak pake oplosan macam beberapa BBM Pertamina. cuman masalahnya mobil kita udah E20 ready ato blm, itu yg kudu dipikirin buat longterm.
