    [ASK] piping setelah header

    suhu2 modcom, newbie mau nanya nih (mungkin repost)
    jika membuat piping custom,
    apakah ukuran pipa setelah kolektor header harus mengikuti ukuran dari kolektor tersebut. Misalnya diameter kolektor adalah 1,5 inch, berarti sambungan pipa setelahnya berdiameter 1,5 inch, apakah demikian?, bagaimana sebaiknya? (asumsi catalytic converter, resonator dilepas semua)

    kalo mobil standard ukuran pipa jangan digedein, maksimal sama lah ukurannya...
    resonator jangan dilepas, saringan standard dilepas aja. pasang tabung anti ngempos di deket resonator.
    muffler belakang bebas sesuai selera bro....

    mu ikut share ya oms.. sedikit hasil percobaan ganti hider gw..
    primary dan secondary 1,25".. di kolektor 1,5" sampe muffler.. sekitar 80cm dari kolektor / persatuan cabang di pasang scott.. muffler pake omega.. oh iya model 41..

    mobil city z standar dar.. brasa plong apalagi untuk rpm atas.. brasa bgt.. blom cobain untuk yg 421 nya spt apa..
    ganti full exhaust system enak bgt pengaruhnya ke tarikan.. brasa plong ajah.. apalagi klu mobil nya udah ganti filter replacement..

    ada plan mu pasang intake estilo plus open air filter.. kyny lbih plong lg tuh.. heheheheh

    Nah gw pernah baca di forum luar kalo metode nekuk pipa juga ngaruh ke peforma kan, nah kalo di indonesia kan metodanya cuman ada crush bent (tekuk paksa) tuh.

    Misal piping custom 2 inch (semuanya diameter dalem):
    1. Bahan galvanis atau sejenisnya, di setiap belokan akan mengecil, tetep bikin 2 inch (hajar aje meskipun di belokan ada yang mengecil).

    2. Bahan galvanis atau sejenisnya, di setiap belokan akan mengecil, oleh karena itu diameter di belokan dibesarkan. Kalo niatnya mau bikin piping diameter 2 inch, maka diameter piping yang digunakan pada belokan adalah 2,25 inch, kalo lurus tetep 2 inch (sambung menyambung gtu). CMIIW

    I was going on Magnaflow's diagram that there is a 20% pipe reduction size in a crush bend. Since they are talking about cross-sectional area I figured this:
    Cross sectional area for 2.5" mandrel bent pipe:
    (1.25^2)pi = 4.91 sq. in.
    Reduce cross-sectional area by 20%
    4.91*0.80 = 3.93
    Find equivilent pipe diameter.
    (r^2)pi = 3.93
    r^2 = 1.25
    r = 1.12
    d= 2.24
    So according to Magnaflow a 2.5" crush-bent pipe would give the equivilent cross-sectional area of a 2.24" pipe at the bends.
    o calculate the crush bent tubing needed for the same area as a 2.5 in. mandrel bent tubing, we just need to multiply the area on the 2.5 in. mandrel bend by 1.25 (i.e. 1 / 0.20 = 1.25 or the inverse of 20% loss in area from crush bending).
    Cross-Sectional Area for 2.5 in. mandrel bent tubing (using pi x radius squared) = 4.91 sq. in.
    Proper Adjusted Cross-Sectional Area for Crush Bent Tube = 4.91 x 1.25 = 6.14 sq in.
    area = PI x radius squared = 6.14 sq in.
    radius = SQRT [ 6.14 / PI ] = SQRT [1.95] = 1.40 in.
    where SQRT = square root
    Therefore,
    Diameter Needed For Crush Bent Exhaust to have the same Area as the 2.5 in. OD Mandrel Bent Exhaust is :
    2 x 1.40 = 2.80 in.
    So if you are going to get a crush bent exhaust made for a 2.5 in. system, use a 2.80 in. exhaust Bpipe. You must weigh the size of the diameter in the straight portions to see if it's still within your power range without going to large though.

    3. Bahan galvanis atau sejenisnya, disetiap belokan akan mengecil, dengan melihat trik diatas dan gak mau repot sambung menyambung, yaudah kalo niatnya mau bikin 2 inch, gedein aja semuanya jadi 2,25 inch.

    4. Bahan stainless steel, di setiap belokan di beri stainless steel elbow, jadi ga ada belokan mengecil (sambung menyambung gtu).

    Nah suhu2 modcom pilih yang mana nih??

    ya kalo budget mencukupi no 4 layak jadi pilihan bosss... cuma pipa stainless kan harganya lumayan boss...
    hahahahaa...
    menurut gw, selama ini pake galvanis, walaupun di belokan mengecil, tapi ngga signifikan, karena dinding dalamnya tetap lancar flownya.

    based on pengalaman gw.. gw pake muffler racing dl baru pake scott.. yg gw rasain pas pasang scott suara makin brisik.. dengan catatan pemasangannya yg bolong menghadap ke muffler.. apabila yg bolong menghadap ke header suara makin redam.. udah cobain 2-2 nya..
    untuk tenaga lbh enak yg bolong ke muffler lebih plong, klu sebalik nya lbh berasa ketahan..

    yg pasti scott lbh brisik daripada reson std mau pemasangannya bagaimana pun.. namanya jg resonator racing..
