    Talking potensi mesin 1NZ-FE VS L15A

    bagi yg menggunakan, apa kelemahan dan kelebihan dari kedua mesin tsb?

    bisa tlg share dnk kelemahan dan kelebihan 2 mesin tersebut,

    menurut ente2 enk yg mana kalau di buat modif?

    VVT-i is only variable cam timing. There is no variable valve lift control. Valve lift control enabled VVT-i are normally termed VVTL-i. VVTL-i engines are normally available to exclusive models for the likes of MR-S, Celica etc. Those engines have their output optimised for medium to high rev operations.

    All Toyota VVT-i/VVTL-i enabled motors run on DOHC configurations.

    VTEC usually is associated with valve lift control with many variations available. It is only when they released the i-VTEC version on the DOHC motor where they have both cam timing and valve lift control together. SOHC also have the i-VTEC version but it does not have cam timing as it is not possible on a single cam.

    To compare engine of similar displacements, lets look at the newest Vios VVT (1NZ-FE), current City VTEC (L15A) & newest Jazz i-VTEC (L15A). Have not come across VVTL-i enabled 1.5 liter engines nor 1.5 liter DOHC i-VTEC though.

    FC based on Japan's 10-15 mode: unknown 19km/l 17.2km/l

    Have not come across the 10-15 mode for 1NZ-FE mileage wise but should be around the region.

    As VVT-i has no "VTEC" per say, VVT-i changes cam timing throughout the whole powerband giving optimum output at all rpm ranges. that is the main design goal and their biggest strength.

    SOHC VTEC/i-VTEC however does not have the luxury of variable cam timing, their strength rely on valve lift control to attain high specific output.

    sya setuju ama bro damar..hehe
    dulu saya pake vios vvti dan new city vtec
    tarikan bawah enakan vios, tapi klo tarikan atas enakan vtec

    Power 1NZFE di rpm atas ga beda jauh ama vtec krn vtecnya sohc, vvti nya dohc. Intinya tarikan bwh enak vvti, atas enak vtec.

    gw koreksi dikit ya. ga ada yg namanya 2jzfe.
    di toyota ga ada VTi. yg ada itu VVT-i
