sebenarnya nggak semua honda jdm itu versi kenceng, ada juga trim yg terendah. contoh civic generasi 96-00 (ferio). di jepang beredar semua varian mesin. versi 92 dk, 105 dk, 115 dk, 125 dk, 160 dk, 170 dk dan 185 dk (type-r). nah yg masuk indo kayaknya mesin yg middle performance (125 dk). new civic 2006, di jepang ada 2 versi mesin, 1800cc - 140 dk & civic si 2000cc - 200 dk (versi 2000cc - 155 dk gak beredar di jepang). untuk indo kebagian yg 1800cc - 140 dk ama 2000cc - 155 dk. versi 2000cc - 200 dk kagak bakalan masuk indo, kecuali beli lewat IU.....:) :)

@nobuhiko: menurut spek resmi dari HPM sih segitu, dan 2000cc. jangan dibandingkan dengan starlet GT dong, peruntukkannya kan beda, beratnya apalagi. trus starlet GT gak cuma JDM, tapi speknya aja yang mirip JDM.
so, intinya ga penting boil honda keluaran mana, jdm kek, idm kek, yg penting stlh beli langsung korek mesinnya sesuai spek terkencang yg dikeluarkan honda. Gitu ya? cmiiw................

EP adalah code previous civic SI, CTR (pre-2006).
kode mesin honda di US atau USDM selalu ada nomor nya di akhir nya contoh B18c5..
B18B adalah non VTEC, buat GSR(94-2000) adalah B18C1 dan GSR(92-93) adalah B17A1
B18C5 adalah mesin ITR nya USDM only
ITR belom di produksi sampe tahun 96 keatas..

well, gw gak di indo sih. tp paling nggak bisa jadi masukan n bahan pertimbangan. mobil gw civic hatch taon 91 (EG4). mesinnya D15B VTEC-E. kmarenan gw bawa luar kota, masuk 18km/L. gw rasa, kalo mix dlm kota, mungkin bisa dapet skitar 15km/L.
catatan: gw ga bilang semua mesin 1500cc honda (yg g tau cuma d15 (ada f15 buat city type-z, but infact, its d15. that's what i've been told). tapi, having said that, nyokap g punya type-z isi premium dapet 12km/L. so, it should be between 10-15km/L. given u have decent mix traffic jam & cruise modes. kalo lo kena macet byk, mungkin bisa 9km/L??? ada yg punya pengalaman??
kalo pake kebut2an, itung paling borosnya aja. lol. its all depends on how heavy ur feet are. hehehehe

gw ga gt yakin, as i never come across someone who actually did that. tapi, kalo emang bisa, yg lo perlu: f20 intake manifold, f20 TB (and intake pipe), f20 knock sensor, f20 crank position sensor, f20 ecu, f20 ecu wiring (to the engine). mungkin ada bbrp sensor2 laen yg ktinggalan, g ga gt yakin jg. tapi, basically ganti 1/2 meisn, dr head keatas.

asumsi gw kmrn, kan banyak mesin di ganti2 dari karburator-injeksi dan ga masalah. tapi bener kata sugarfree,repot taruh sensor segala macem,tapi pada dasarnya mesinnya sama persis kok jadi ga perlu modifikasi macem2..tapi memang lebih baik ganti mesin sekalian, ga repot dan jatuhnya bisa lebih murah..
sebenernya ga salah juga kalo dibilang varian accord, karena platform prelude adalah accord.dan dengan model yang mirip (prelude di indo masuk pas zaman accord prestige),parts yang mirip juga (kecuali mesinnya) dan keluar sebagai limited edition bareng prestige orang indonesia bilangnya accord prelude..

city type Z platformnya itu honda grand civic, mesinnya juga sama, D15.
seri F paling kecil kalo ga salah F18 1800cc.
VTEC dan VVT-i prinsip kerjanya sedikit berbeda,karena vvti cuma ngatur timing buka katup. sedangkan vtec ngatur lift dan durasi tapi ga ngatur timing buka katup. jadi mungkin lebih advanced VTEC sedikit. VTEC sekelas dengan VVTL-i (VVT-i yang punya fungsi ngatur lift katup).

kalo dari yang pernah gw baca, 3 stage VTEC itu gabungan VTEC-E dengan VTEC.prinsip kerjanya, 3(12)katup terbuka pada putaran rendah,4(16)katup terbuka diputaran tengah (3500-6000),diatas 6000 baru wild cam lobenya berfungsi (lift jadi lebih gede)
kalo lihat prinsip diatas, buat performa kayanya mending pake vtec standarnya aja,jadi ga usah nunggu 6000 rpm.
tapi ini berdasarkan yang gw baca, kalo salah ya mohon maaf...
trus kalo ferio kayanya pake 3stage ya?soalnya punya prinsip kerja VTEC-E tapi tenaganya lebih gede dari genio (seharusnya VTEC E tenaganya lebih kecil)

informasi yg pernah gw baca dari Temple of VTEC, jenis-2 mesin VTEC sebenarnya cuman ada 2, DOHC VTEC (double cam) yg sering disebut "mbah buyut-nya" ato cikal bakal VTEC itu sendiri, dan SOHC VTEC (single cam) yg merupakan pengembangan/inovasi selanjutnya dari mesin-2 VTEC. setelah generasi SOHC VTEC lantas muncul pengembangan baru seperti VTEC-E & 3 Stage VTEC. VTEC-E difokuskan ke sisi ekonomis alias irit bahan bakar & 3 Stage VTEC difokuskan ke sisi power sekaligus irit bahan bakar.
3 Stage VTEC itu adalah penggabungan secara logical (logical step) antara SOHC VTEC-E (yg fokus ke arah sisi ekonomis) & SOHC VTEC power (yg fokus ke arah performa), jadi tujuan Honda bikin 3 Stage VTEC adalah penggabungan unsur Ekonomis & Power dalam satu mekanisme mesin VTEC. secara garis besar prinsip kerja 3 Stage VTEC adalah :
- Stage 1, di bawah 2500 rpm, mesin bekerja dgn mekanisme 12 katup yg akan menghasilkan efisiensi pembakaran lebih, sehingga akan irit bahan bakar.
- Stage 2, pada saat rpm berada di atas 2500 rpm, 4 katup yg belum terbuka sekarang akan terbuka dan total 16 katup terbuka. di sini mekanisme VTEC-E yg bekerja s/d 6000 rpm.
- Stage 3, di atas 6000 rpm, mekanisme VTEC Power bekerja. di sini mesin di-PUSH untuk tenaga maksimal sebesar 130 dk (mesin D15B).
3 Stage VTEC diaplikasikan di mesin D15B dgn tenaga maksimal 130 dk. diaplikasikan di Civic VTi/Ferio (JDM). SOHC VTEC-E diaplikasikan di 1500 cc Civic ETi (JDM) dgn tenaga maksimum 92 dk. SOHC VTEC-E juga diaplikasikan di mesin D16Y5 1600 cc Civic HX (USDM) dgn tenaga maksimal 115 dk.

iya kurang lebih sama,tapi pada vtec biasa di berbagai putaran jumlah katup yang terbuka tidak berubah, keenambelas katup terbuka di setiap putaran mesin.
super bejo: kalo tipenya sohc vtec berarti wajar tenaganya segitu. tapi yang sempet bikin gw bingung menurut orang2 bengkel dan di beberapa majalah, ferio sama cielo vtec itu vtec-E,tapi kok tenaganya lebih gede..
tapi kalo ternyata memang vtec sohc ya gw ga bingung lagi he3...

new accord: 160 hp 218 Nm 1465 kg
kalo berat lihat buku manualnya biar pasti,soalnya biasanya suka beda dengan info yang beredar di pasaran.

Kalau saya hitung Power to Weight rationya/PWR (dg asumsi berat mobil sesuai dg yg ditulis the maestro man).
Nilai PWR semakin kecil semakin bagus.
Maestro manual: 1200kg/115 hp = 10,4
Maestro injeksi: 1200kg/135hp = 8,8
Cielo: 1300kg/140hp = 9.2
Cielo Vtec: 1300/145hp = 8.9
Accord vti: 1340/150 = 8.9
New Accord:1465/160 = 9.1
Kesimpulan sementara: Maestro injeksi yg paling bagus PWRnya
